March 2010

Jack - Dumfriesshire, Scotland

My name is Jack Currie, I am eleven years old on March 14th and I live in South West Scotland. I play rugby for Dumfries Saints and the highlight for me was when I was picked to be mascot for the Scotland v Australia game at Murrayfield last November, where Scotland won 9-8.

I enjoy playing rugby in the garden with my two younger brothers Matthew and Tom and hope to get some rugby posts at home so I can practice my kicking like you did when you were young. This is a photo of me in Collioure, near Perpignan where I go every summer. When I am older, I hope to play no. 10 for Scotland. Thank you making me Fan of the Month!

Jack.

Question: What is it like taking a penalty kick under pressure in the dying minutes of a game?

Dan Answers: its is a very nervous time but as long as you have a routine that you follow for every kick you take then all you do is that same routine you practise and remember to take deep breaths to help stay relaxed.
Good luck and happy 11th birthday.
